Digital Peer Support Certification (Full Course) includes 8 weeks of live educational training, case examples, the Digital Peer Support workbook, and templates to guide individuals and agencies in developing peer support programs. This course starts July 22, 2020 at 4pm -5:30pm EST and runs every Wednesday until September 2, 2020
Week 1: Introduction to Digital Peer Support
This meeting will present on a case study of a digital peer support organization, digital literacy, and digital peer support technologies currently available.
Week 2: Promoting Engagement of Service Users with Technology
This meeting will present on how to engage people in technology, with special attention to older adults and young adults.
Week 3: Digital Peer Support Supervision for the clinician and non-clinician Part 1
This meeting will include supervision requirements for digital peer support, digital peer support, supervision models; and supervision regulations (informed consent, privacy, and technology platforms).
Week 4: Digital Peer Support Supervision for the clinician and non-clinician Part 2
This meeting will include a guide on effective digital peer support supervision via telehealth technology.
Week 5: Separating Work and Personal Life
This meeting will include digital peer support practice guidelines, being purposeful while working from home in a digital world, and addressing the dual role of peer support specialists.
Week 6: Addressing the Needs of Specific Groups.
This meeting will include equity through digital peer support technology design, accessing and engaging hard-to-reach groups in digital peer support, and shared-decision making in selecting technologies to meet the needs of communities, including justice-involved, people experiencing homelessness, older adults, diverse racial and ethics groups (i.e., African-American/Black, Latinx, Native Americans).
Week 7: Ethical Issues with Digital Peer Support.
This meeting will include ethical issues as presented by peer support specialists with special attention to analytical techniques such as machine learning and natural language processing.
Week 8: Graduation Ceremony and Performance Testing to Ensure Mastery of Digital Peer Support.
